Case 58/2017
(Paris Child Trafficking Case, Maasumiyat se khilwad, Ep. 845, 846)
A kind-hearted Indian woman residing in Paris had expressed her wish to adopt a young boy from a remote village in India, hoping to give him a better future. The adoption process was in its early stages, and the boy’s family saw this as a life-changing opportunity for him.
However, what should have been a story of hope and transformation turned into a heartbreaking tragedy.
Just days before the adoption could proceed, the boy was kidnapped by unknown miscreants. During the abduction, the boy’s uncle was attacked, suffering serious injuries while trying to protect him. The kidnappers didn’t spare the child either — he was violently assaulted and left in critical condition.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors fought hard to stabilize him. While his condition initially improved, he developed a severe internal infection that baffled the medical team. Despite their best efforts, the infection continued to spread, and the young boy tragically passed away a few days later.

Arti Dhir Case: Shocking UK-Based Murder Plot for Insurance Money
Who Is Arti Dhir?
Arti Dhir, a UK-based Indian-origin woman, became the center of an international murder investigation after the brutal killing of Gopal Ajani, a 19-year-old youth, in Gujarat, India, in February 2017. Along with her partner, Kuntal Patel, Dhir was accused of masterminding a chilling murder-for-insurance scam that shocked authorities in both India and the UK.
Motive: Insurance Fraud and Murder
Investigators revealed that Dhir and Patel had adopted Gopal Ajani, allegedly for the sole purpose of taking out a life insurance policy worth over ₹1.3 crore (£150,000). After securing the policy, Gopal was sent back to India, where he was stabbed to death by hired killers in what appeared to be a cold, calculated execution.
Interpol Alert and Arrest in the UK
Following a detailed investigation, Indian authorities issued an Interpol Red Notice, leading to Arti Dhir's arrest in 2023 in the United Kingdom. However, when India sought her extradition to face trial, the process hit a major legal hurdle.
Extradition Blocked Over Human Rights Concerns
UK courts have refused extradition, citing the risk of a death penalty in India and potential human rights violations. As a result, Arti Dhir continues to remain in the UK, even as the Indian legal system pushes for justice.
Why This Case Matters
The Arti Dhir murder case highlights serious issues around insurance scams, cross-border justice, and the manipulation of adoption for financial gain. It has sparked global debate on extradition laws, especially between countries with differing views on capital punishment.
