Young girl Divya Setpal is allegedly being killed by his own brother because she secretly married to a boy from another cast. In the court defense lawyer is trying to prove that <> is innocent and it is a su!c!de case, not murder. He says that Divya secretly married Naveen Duttvedi but later she realized that it was her mistake so she commits su!c!de.

The most suspicious thing is that Divya's parent cremated her body immediately after her death saying that she died of a heart attack. Things came into light when a social worker Virendra with whom help they got married, gets a call from an unknown person who tells him about Divya's murder. Virendra approaches police to inform them about this honor killing and police start investigation whether it is a murder or su!c!de.

एक युवा लड़की दिव्या सेतपाल की अचानक मौत हो गई है. उसके घरवालों का कहना है की दिव्या हार्ट अटैक से मरी है जब की बाद में वो लोग कोर्ट में बोलते हैं की दिव्या ने आत्महत्या की थी. उनके अनुसार दिव्या ने चोरी छिपे नवीन नाम के एक लड़के से शादी की थी और बाद में उसको ये अहसास हुआ की उसने ये शादी जल्दीबाज़ी में ग़लत आदमी से कर ली है इसलिए आत्महत्या कर ली.

दिव्या की मौत के बाद ये लोग शमशान घाट में उसका क्रिया-करम भी कर देते हैं. उसने हिसाब से सबकुछ सही जा रहा था मगर समस्या तब खड़ी हो जाती है जब इनकी शादी करवाने वाले एक समाजसेवी विरेंद्र को एक अंजाना फ़ोन आता है जिसमें ये कहा जाता है की दिव्या सेतपाल की मौत आम मौत नहीं बल्कि हत्या है जो की उसके परिवार ने सम्मान की ख़ातिर की है.

परिचय:
"ऑनर किलिंग" – यानी "इज़्ज़त के नाम पर हत्या" – भारतीय समाज का एक कड़वा सच है, जो आज भी कई हिस्सों में देखा जाता है। हाल ही में हरियाणा के पानीपत जिले से आई किरण और रोहताश की खबर ने पूरे देश को झकझोर कर रख दिया।

क्या हुआ था?
किरण और रोहताश एक-दूसरे से प्यार करते थे और उन्होंने परिवार की मर्जी के खिलाफ जाकर शादी की थी। दोनों अलग-अलग जातियों से थे — यही इस रिश्ते की सबसे बड़ी ‘गलती’ थी उनके परिवारवालों की नजर में। शादी के कुछ ही समय बाद, किरन के परिजनों ने किरण की निर्मम हत्या कर दी। इसे 'ऑनर किलिंग' कहा गया — लेकिन असल में ये नस्लीय और जातिगत अहंकार की वजह से की गई पूर्व-नियोजित हत्या थी।

समाज की भूमिका:
यह केस सिर्फ एक व्यक्तिगत त्रासदी नहीं है, यह हमारे सामाजिक ताने-बाने में छिपे हुए जातिवाद, पितृसत्ता और रूढ़िवादी सोच को उजागर करता है। ऑनर किलिंग तब होती है जब परिवार को लगता है कि प्रेम संबंध या शादी से उनकी ‘इज़्ज़त’ को ठेस पहुंची है। इस इज़्ज़त को बचाने के नाम पर अक्सर बेटियों और उनके पतियों की जान ले ली जाती है।

"Honour killing" — the term itself is a paradox. There is no honour in killing, yet in many parts of India, such incidents are disturbingly common. The recent Kiran and Rohtash case from Panipat, Haryana, has once again exposed the deadly grip of casteism and patriarchal norms on modern love.

What happened?
Kiran and Rohtash were in love and got married against their families' wishes. They belonged to different castes — and that alone became the basis for Kiran's murder. Within days of their marriage, Kiran’s family members allegedly killed Kiran in cold blood, deeming it a matter of family honour.

Beyond the Crime — A Social Mirror:
This is not just a crime story; it's a brutal reflection of how deep-rooted caste prejudice and toxic patriarchy still rule large sections of society. Honour killings often stem from the belief that a daughter's independent choice in love or marriage brings shame upon the family. The response? Kill the girl, kill the boy — erase the "shame."

While the police have arrested the accused, the broader concern remains — will arrests bring real change? Until the collective mindset shifts and until love is truly seen as a right — not a rebellion — honour killings will keep recurring.
