During World War II, illegal weapons and explosives had secretly entered the region through American soldiers stationed nearby. Byomkesh suspects that Sadanand Sur had accidentally discovered this hidden arms business and later began blackmailing the person responsible. The large sum of money Vishwanath had recently given him was not a loan at all — it was payment to keep quiet.

Unfortunately, Amrit unknowingly witnessed the black horse rider near the hidden weapons site that night. Afraid that the boy might reveal his identity, the killer decided to silence him forever.
