Eleven-year-old Raju, a schoolboy in Mumbai, begins behaving strangely. Once considered intelligent and capable, he suddenly stops answering even simple questions in class. His teacher notices fear in his eyes, while the school principal discovers another troubling pattern: Raju arrives nearly an hour before school begins and waits long after classes end before returning home. Combined with visible injuries on his body, his silence suggests that something serious may be happening beyond the school gates.
The principal gently tries to gain Raju’s trust, but the frightened child struggles to reveal what is troubling him. His father, Dhirendra, is called to school and warned that Raju appears to be under severe emotional pressure. The principal urges him to give the boy affection and security rather than punishment. Yet at home, Raju appears trapped in an atmosphere of intimidation and violence, something even the neighbours have begun noticing.
As concerns surrounding the child intensify, the situation takes a disturbing turn on July 13, 2011. While Mumbai is shaken by deadly serial blasts, an alarming incident at Raju’s home draws the attention of the police, his school and his separated mother. Investigators soon encounter troubling evidence, including injuries of different ages on the boy’s body. What really happened inside that home, and what secret had Raju been too terrified to reveal?
मुंबई के एक स्कूल में पढ़ने वाला ग्यारह वर्षीय राजू अचानक असामान्य रूप से शांत रहने लगा। कक्षा में अध्यापिका के आसान सवालों का भी वह जवाब नहीं देता और उसकी आंखों में लगातार डर दिखाई देता है। स्कूल की प्रिंसिपल को पता चलता है कि राजू स्कूल खुलने से करीब एक घंटे पहले आ जाता है और छुट्टी के काफी देर बाद घर लौटता है। उसके व्यवहार और शरीर पर दिखाई देने वाले चोट के निशान उन्हें किसी गंभीर परेशानी का संकेत देते हैं।
प्रिंसिपल राजू से प्यार से बात करने की कोशिश करती हैं, लेकिन वह अपने डर की वजह बताने से घबराता है। जब उसके पिता धीरेंद्र को स्कूल बुलाया जाता है, तो प्रिंसिपल उन्हें समझाती हैं कि बच्चा मानसिक दबाव में है और उसे डांट या मार नहीं, बल्कि सुरक्षा और स्नेह की जरूरत है। मगर घर लौटने के बाद राजू फिर उसी भयावह माहौल में पहुंच जाता है। पड़ोसी भी उसके पिता के हिंसक व्यवहार और बच्चे की बेबसी को देखते रहते हैं।
धीरे-धीरे स्कूल और आसपास के लोगों की चिंता बढ़ती जाती है। फिर 13 जुलाई 2011 को मुंबई में एक ओर सिलसिलेवार धमाकों की अफरातफरी मची होती है, जबकि दूसरी ओर राजू के घर से ऐसी खबर सामने आती है जो पुलिस, स्कूल और उसके परिवार को एक गंभीर जांच की ओर ले जाती है। अब सवाल यह है कि राजू के साथ वास्तव में क्या हुआ था और उसके शरीर पर मिले पुराने-नए निशान किस कहानी की ओर इशारा कर रहे थे?
