Tabassum, 41 (played by Geetanjali Mishra), is a divorcee who lives with her 18-year-old son. Her elder sister suggests that she remarry, as she is only 41 years old and it would make the rest of her life easier.
After some time, she creates a profile on a matrimonial website. Abbas Ali (real name Arif Khan, played by Mazher Sayed), an IT professional from the UK who is interested in marrying an Indian woman, proposes to her. He meets her and her family, and they decide to get married.

After a few days, Abbas asks Tabassum for financial help because he wants to buy property in India. Tabassum, who is completely trapped by his lies, gives him her savings and jewellery. After taking the money, Abbas disappears and his cellphone is switched off. Finally, Tabassum files a complaint with the police.
