Innocent Victim
Crime Patrol Satark Episode 464 | Female Infanticide Case
A newborn baby girl is found dead inside a dirty drain near Borivali. The infant’s body is discovered inside a plastic bag, and police suspect that the child was murdered shortly after birth because she was a girl. During the investigation, officers recover a medical bill from the bag and begin tracing the hospital and medical store connected to the prescription.

The investigation leads the police to a gynecologist who confirms that a woman named Rashmi had recently delivered a healthy baby girl. However, the address and identity provided at the hospital appear to be fake. As the police continue their investigation, they uncover the real identity of the mother—Revati Karade—and a disturbing family secret connected to social stigma, an unmarried pregnancy, and the family’s desperation to hide the birth of the child.Revati had fallen in love with a man named Kishan Gosai, who promised to marry her after learning about her pregnancy. However, Kishan disappeared and later refused to accept Revati and the baby after discovering that the child was a girl. Under societal pressure and fear of humiliation, Revati’s mother Nanda and sister Pranita decided to get rid of the newborn child.
The six-day-old baby girl was strangled and thrown into the drain. During interrogation, the family admitted that they had planned to abandon the child, but eventually killed her instead. Police arrested Nanda and Pranita under IPC Section 302 for murder, while Revati was charged for providing false information at the hospital.
Inside Story
Mumbai, Maharashtra
Sahar Police solved a shocking murder case involving the death of a seven-day-old baby girl in Andheri (East). The police arrested three women — the baby’s mother Bhagyashree Suresh Mandavkar (22), her aunt Archana (20), and grandmother Suchita (47). The case was solved with the help of a medical receipt found inside the plastic bag in which the baby’s body was wrapped.
The incident came to light after local residents noticed the newborn’s body floating in a nullah near Ruby Koch Road close to Sahar International Airport. The baby had injury marks on her head and left eye, and a handkerchief was tied around her neck. Police suspected that the baby was strangled before being thrown into the nullah.
Investigators traced the prescription slip to a medical store in Sion and later contacted the doctor from Sion Hospital who had handled the delivery. After identifying the mother, the police questioned the women, who eventually confessed to the crime. According to the investigation, the mother delivered the baby at Sion Hospital, after which her mother and sister took her from Chandivali in an auto-rickshaw. Inside the moving auto, they allegedly killed the baby and later dumped the body into the nullah.
