In Ahmedabad, a disturbing case unfolded that exposed the dark reality of forced decisions within a family. Aastha, a 29-year-old mother of two daughters, was living with her husband Jayesh. She was expecting her third child, and what should have been a hopeful time soon turned into a tragic sequence of events.
According to police investigations, after three months of pregnancy, Rajesh allegedly took Aastha to a clinic for an illegal sex determination test. The report revealed that the unborn child was a girl. This revelation reportedly led to immense pressure on Aastha from her husband and in-laws.
Despite her resistance, Aastha was allegedly subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment. As the pregnancy progressed to six months, she was forcibly taken to a private hospital, where an abortion was carried out beyond the legally permitted limit.
During the procedure, Aastha’s condition deteriorated, and she was rushed to another hospital. However, she could not survive.
