उन्नीस साल की बबली पिछले दो महीनों से हरीश और राखी चावला के घर काम कर रही थी। दिनभर वह बिना थके घर के काम करती, लेकिन पिछले एक महीने से हर रात डरावने सपनों में चीखने लगती थी। उसे लगता जैसे कोई उसे मारने की कोशिश कर रहा हो, जबकि उसके शरीर पर चोट का कोई निशान नहीं था।
परिवार ने पहले इसे बुरा सपना समझा, फिर बाबली को घर से हटाने की कोशिश की। उसके माता-पिता का पता नहीं चला और उसे लाने वाला घनश्याम भी अचानक गायब हो गया। बाद में हरीश उसे वापस ले आया और डॉक्टर तथा काउंसलर से मदद लेने लगा।
काउंसलर की बातचीत और बबली की नींद में रिकॉर्ड की गई चीखों से एक भयावह कहानी सामने आने लगी। बबली ने एक लड़की की हत्या, एक आदमी और एक “आंटी” का जिक्र किया। पुलिस ने भी उससे पूछताछ की, लेकिन उसकी यादें बिखरी हुई थीं और कहानी में लगातार नए पहलू जुड़ते गए।

Nineteen-year-old Babli had been working for two months at Harish and Raakhi Chawla’s home. She worked tirelessly during the day, but for the past month she had been waking up screaming every night. In her nightmares, she felt someone was trying to kill her, yet there were no injuries on her body.
At first, the family assumed it was simply a nightmare. They eventually tried to send Babli away, but the man who had brought her, Ghanshyam, had disappeared. Even attempts to locate Babli’s parents failed. Harish later brought her back and sought medical and counselling help.
As a counsellor studied Babli’s behaviour and recorded her nighttime episodes, disturbing fragments began to emerge. Babli spoke about a girl who had been killed, a man responsible, and a mysterious woman she called “Aunty.” Police questioning produced more details, but her memories remained fragmented and uncertain.
Investigators also discovered that Ghanshyam had vanished, raising further questions about Babli’s past. Then Babli made a shocking statement: she claimed that she herself had killed the girl with a knife.
But was Babli actually confessing to a murder, or was something far more complicated hidden behind her fragmented memories? Where had the crime really happened, and who was the mysterious girl? The pieces of the story were beginning to connect, but the truth remained just out of reach.

Murder of a Young Woman from Jharkhand Exposes Exploitation Behind Domestic Work
उत्तर प्रदेश के हापुड़ में दिसंबर 2025 में गन्ने के खेत से मिले एक लावारिस सूटकेस ने पुलिस के सामने एक ऐसी वारदात का खुलासा किया, जिसने दिल्ली-एनसीआर में घरेलू काम के नाम पर महिलाओं के शोषण की गंभीर तस्वीर उजागर की। सूटकेस में झारखंड के सिमडेगा जिले की एक युवती के अवशेष मिले, जिसकी हत्या अगस्त में किए जाने का आरोप है।
पुलिस जांच के अनुसार, युवती को घरेलू सहायिका की नौकरी दिलाने के बहाने दिल्ली लाया गया था। आरोप है कि हापुड़ निवासी अंकित कुमार और उसकी पत्नी कलिस्ता उर्फ काली ने युवती का शोषण किया। जब उसने पुलिस में शिकायत करने की बात कही, तो कथित तौर पर उसकी हत्या कर दी गई। आरोपियों ने शव को सूटकेस में बंद कर 29 अगस्त को हापुड़ के पिलखुवा क्षेत्र में राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-9 के पास फेंक दिया।
करीब तीन महीने बाद, 1 दिसंबर को खेत में काम कर रहे लोगों की नजर सूटकेस पर पड़ी। पुलिस ने जांच के बाद दोनों आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया। मामले में एक अन्य युवती की गवाही भी अहम साबित हुई, जिसने कथित तौर पर वारदात देखी थी।
यह घटना घरेलू काम के नाम पर कमजोर और जरूरतमंद महिलाओं की सुरक्षा तथा उनके अधिकारों पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है। पुलिस मामले की आगे जांच कर रही है।
In December 2025, an abandoned suitcase discovered in a sugarcane field in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, led police to uncover a shocking crime that highlighted the exploitation of women under the pretext of domestic employment in the Delhi-NCR region. The remains found inside the suitcase belonged to a young woman from Simdega district in Jharkhand, who was allegedly murdered in August.
According to the police investigation, the woman had been brought to Delhi on the promise of a job as a domestic helper. Hapur resident Ankit Kumar and his wife, Kalista, alias Kali, were accused of exploiting her. When she reportedly threatened to approach the police, she was allegedly murdered. The accused are said to have placed her body inside a suitcase and dumped it near National Highway 9 in the Pilkhuwa area of Hapur on August 29.
Nearly three months later, on December 1, people working in the fields spotted the suitcase. Following an investigation, police arrested both accused. The testimony of another young woman, who had allegedly witnessed the crime, also proved significant in the case.
This incident raises serious questions about the safety and rights of vulnerable women who migrate in search of domestic work. The police investigation is ongoing.
