Pranay Murder Case | Honor Killing Story

Pranay murder case was the hottest news during September 2017. Pranay, who came from a lower-caste family, was in love with an upper-caste family girl, Amrutha. They also got married to each other during January that year but did not reveal the marriage to anyone.

On 14th Sep 2017, when Pranay was coming back home with Amrutha, who was six months pregnant at that time, an assailant attacked him from behind in front of Amrutha and killed him on the spot.

Amrutha and Pranay were in love since she was in the 4th standard. Pranay was her senior in school. Amrutha’s family was not at all in favor of their marriage. Her father, T Maruthi Rao, had clearly said that Pranay came from a lower-caste Christian family, so he would never let them get married.

After their marriage on 23rd Jan, they were living separately. They did not want to share this with anyone but somehow it got leaked, which was the biggest shock for Maruthi Rao. He locked Amrutha inside her house with the help of his brothers. Maruthi Rao also offered a bribe of three crores to Pranay in exchange for leaving his daughter, but he denied the offer, so finally Maruthi Rao planned to eliminate him.
