An Unknown Intruder | एक अनजान घुसपैठिया
Fifty-eight-year-old Suman lives with her only son Ravi in Pune. One morning, Ravi wakes up and prepares to leave for work, but discovers that his bedroom door has been locked from the outside. Confused, he calls out to his mother but receives no response. He then tries calling her mobile phone, but she does not answer.
Growing anxious, Ravi contacts the building’s security guard for help. When the guard arrives, he notices that the main door of the flat is already open. After unlocking Ravi’s bedroom, both men rush to Suman’s room, where they make a horrifying discovery. Suman is lying dead inside the house.
Ravi immediately informs the police and recounts the events of the morning. During the initial investigation, officers learn that relations between Ravi’s family and his uncle have been strained for some time. The uncle is questioned, but investigators find no evidence linking him to the crime.
The police also become suspicious of Ravi’s version of events. They question why he woke up so late and how it was possible that he had not checked on his mother until he was about to leave for work. As investigators dig deeper, the mysterious death raises more questions than answers.
This episode is based on a real incident that took place on 5 April in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. Fifty-seven-year-old Mani Venkatesh lived in a rented house with her son Srinivas Kishore Venkatesh. One morning, Kishore discovered that his bedroom door had been locked from the outside. Unable to contact his mother, he called the building manager for assistance.
When they entered the flat, they found Mani Venkatesh lying dead on the floor near a cupboard, with a pillow beside her body. The house showed no signs of robbery or disturbance, leaving investigators puzzled about who would want to harm a middle-aged woman living a seemingly ordinary life.
