Tabassum (real name Firdosh Khan) is the eldest of four sisters. Their mother has passed away, and their father has no stable source of income. As a result, three of the sisters work as maids and tailors to support the family. The youngest sister, Nusrat, is only eight years old. Constant quarrels at home make life difficult, and Tabassum hopes to escape these circumstances through marriage.
Eventually, her marriage is arranged with a Nashik-based mechanic, Ashfaq (real name Mohammad Irfan). Believing she will finally leave her troubled life behind, she moves to Nashik after the wedding.
After a few days, Tabassum brings her youngest sister Nusrat to Nashik so she can have a better upbringing and future. During this period, Ashfaq frequently visits Tabassum’s family home, which she finds unusual. She notices him growing increasingly close to her sister Shabnam and repeatedly warns Shabnam to stay away from him.
One night, Tabassum hears voices coming from the rooftop. When she goes to investigate, she is shocked to find Shabnam and Ashfaq together. The incident creates a major conflict within the family. Ashfaq openly declares that he loves Shabnam and intends to marry her.
Tabassum discovers Ashfaq and Shabnam’s relationship
तबस्सुम चार बहनों में सबसे बड़ी है। उसकी माँ का निधन हो चुका है और उसके पिता कोई काम-धंधा नहीं करते हैं। चार बहनों में से तीन अलग-अलग काम करके परिवार का गुज़ारा चलाती हैं। घर में रोज़ किसी न किसी बात पर झगड़ा होता रहता है। तबस्सुम को उम्मीद है कि शादी के बाद उसे इस कठिन जीवन से राहत मिलेगी।
उसकी शादी अशफ़ाक से होती है, जो नासिक में मैकेनिक का काम करता है। शादी के बाद वह उसके साथ नासिक रहने चली जाती है। कुछ समय बाद वह अपनी सबसे छोटी बहन नुसरत को भी अपने पास बुला लेती है ताकि उसकी अच्छी परवरिश हो सके।
इसी दौरान अशफ़ाक बार-बार तबस्सुम के मायके आने-जाने लगता है। तबस्सुम कई बार उसे अपनी बहन शबनम के साथ देखती है और शबनम को उससे दूर रहने की चेतावनी देती है। एक रात उसे छत से आवाज़ें सुनाई देती हैं। जब वह वहां पहुंचती है, तो देखती है कि शबनम और अशफ़ाक साथ हैं। यह देखकर घर में बड़ा हंगामा खड़ा हो जाता है।
अशफ़ाक साफ़ तौर पर कह देता है कि वह शबनम से प्यार करता है और उससे शादी करेगा। इसके बाद वह शबनम को भी अपने साथ नासिक ले आता है। अब अशफ़ाक के घर में उसकी दो पत्नियां और सबसे छोटी साली नुसरत साथ रहने लगती हैं।
