Founder of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) and Nobel Peace Prize winner Mr. Kailash Satyarthi was the guest of honor for both stories featured this week. Both stories were based on rescue operations carried out by the NGO BBA.
Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian children’s rights advocate and activist against child labor. He founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan in 1980 and has helped protect the rights of more than 83,000 children from 144 countries. His efforts played a significant role in the adoption of International Labour Organization Convention No. 182 on the worst forms of child labor, which serves as a key guideline for governments worldwide. His work has been recognized through numerous national and international honors, including the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, which he shared with Malala Yousafzai.

The story is based on a minor girl named Naina. She was deeply attached to her elder sister Shalini and felt heartbroken after her sister got married. Later, she began spending time at her sister’s home. Eventually, she was admitted to a nearby school and started living with her sister.
One day, after returning from school, her brother-in-law Ajeet took advantage of her when no one else was at home. He continued abusing her repeatedly and threatened that if she disclosed anything, he would end his marriage with her sister. When Naina finally complained to Shalini, her allegations were ignored and she was blamed instead. Her father later admitted her to a hostel for further studies.
Naina’s struggle against exploitation and traffickingWhile studying in the ninth class, Naina met a young man named Prasanna from her village. He promised to help her find a good job in Delhi. Trusting him, Naina convinced her friend Chhaya to accompany her, and both girls ran away from the hostel.
After reaching Delhi, Prasanna sold both girls to an unauthorized placement agency. The agency then sold Naina as a domestic worker to a wealthy household for ₹60,000. After enduring a long period of exploitation, Naina eventually managed to escape and reached a railway station. There, she sought help from a policeman, but instead of protecting her, he exploited her situation and forced her into domestic work at his home.
नैना नौवीं कक्षा की छात्रा है और उसका अपनी बड़ी बहन शालिनी से बहुत लगाव है। उसकी बड़ी बहन की शादी तय हो जाती है, जिससे वह परेशान हो जाती है कि अब वह अकेली रह जाएगी। शादी के कुछ समय बाद वह अपनी दीदी के ससुराल में जाकर रहने लगती है। बाद में उसका दाखिला भी वहीं पास के स्कूल में करवा दिया जाता है और वह वहीं रहकर पढ़ाई करने लगती है।
एक शाम जब वह स्कूल से घर लौटती है, तो उसका जीजा अजीत घर पर अकेला होता है। वह मौके का फायदा उठाकर उसके साथ दुष्कर्म करता है। वह नैना को धमकी देता है कि यदि उसने किसी को कुछ बताया, तो वह शालिनी से अपना विवाह तोड़ देगा। डर के कारण नैना चुप रहती है। यह कई बार दोहराया जाता है।
एक रात जब अजीत फिर से उसके साथ दुष्कर्म करने की कोशिश करता है, तो नैना चिल्ला उठती है। घर के सभी लोग इकट्ठा हो जाते हैं, लेकिन उसकी बात पर विश्वास नहीं किया जाता। यहां तक कि उसकी बहन शालिनी भी उसके खिलाफ बोलती है। बाद में उसके माता-पिता उसे अपने घर ले जाते हैं और दूसरे गांव के एक हॉस्टल में दाखिला करवा देते हैं।
वहां उसकी मुलाकात अपने गांव के एक लड़के प्रसन्ना से होती है। नैना उसे अपनी पूरी कहानी बताती है। प्रसन्ना उसे दिल्ली में अच्छी नौकरी दिलाने का झांसा देता है। नैना उसकी बातों में आ जाती है और अपनी दोस्त छाया को भी साथ चलने के लिए मना लेती है। दोनों हॉस्टल से भाग जाती हैं और प्रसन्ना उन्हें दिल्ली ले जाता है, जहां वह उन्हें एक अनाधिकृत प्लेसमेंट एजेंसी को बेच देता है। इसके बाद एजेंसी नैना को एक अमीर व्यक्ति के घर में साठ हजार रुपये में घरेलू नौकरानी के रूप में बेच देती है।
