Tunnel | सुरंग
Girish Talwar is a struggling property dealer whose business never achieved the success he had hoped for. At the age of 36, he remains unmarried and faces constant financial difficulties. His close friend, Randeep Dahiya, is a history-sheeter who is also going through a difficult phase in life.
One day, while discussing their problems, Randeep jokingly says that he should get a job in a bank, learn everything about it, and then rob it before disappearing forever. Instead of dismissing the idea, Girish begins thinking seriously about it and proposes a daring plan.
According to Girish, the ideal target is Rashtriya Lokjan Bank. Rather than attempting a direct robbery, he suggests digging a tunnel that would open directly inside the bank’s locker room. The plan sounds like something from a movie, but the more they discuss it, the more achievable it seems.
To study the bank closely, both men open accounts there and start visiting regularly. They carefully observe the layout, locate the locker room, and analyze the surrounding area. Girish even uses GPS devices and a compass to calculate the tunnel’s direction and destination.
As preparations continue, they recruit additional accomplices. One is experienced in underground pipeline work, while another specializes in laying underground cables. Together they begin planning one of the most unusual robberies imaginable.
Nearby stands an abandoned house belonging to Girish’s former business partner, Bhupender Parashar. Since the property is locked due to a family dispute, the gang decides it will be the perfect starting point for the tunnel.
They secretly enter the house and seal the doors and windows with plywood to prevent noise from escaping. Their target is to complete the tunnel within eighteen days and reach the bank during the festive noise of Diwali.
Night after night, the tunnel grows longer. Finally, after eighteen days of digging, they reach the other end and begin breaking through the floor above. But have they truly reached the bank’s locker room, or has something gone terribly wrong?
गिरीश तलवार एक प्रॉपर्टी डीलर है जिसका व्यवसाय कभी सफल नहीं हो पाया। 36 वर्ष की उम्र में भी वह आर्थिक परेशानियों से जूझ रहा है। उसका मित्र रणदीप दहिया एक हिस्ट्री-शीटर है और वह भी पैसों की तंगी से गुजर रहा है।
एक दिन बातचीत के दौरान रणदीप मजाक में कहता है कि किसी बैंक में नौकरी करके उसी बैंक को लूट लेना चाहिए। इस विचार को सुनकर गिरीश के मन में एक अनोखी योजना जन्म लेती है।
गिरीश राष्ट्रीय लोकजन बैंक को निशाना बनाने का सुझाव देता है। उसका विचार है कि सीधे बैंक में घुसने के बजाय एक सुरंग बनाई जाए जो सीधे बैंक के लॉकर रूम में जाकर खुले। यह योजना सुनने में किसी फिल्म जैसी लगती है, लेकिन दोनों को यह संभव नजर आती है।
योजना को सफल बनाने के लिए दोनों बैंक में अपने खाते खुलवाते हैं और नियमित रूप से वहां आने-जाने लगते हैं। वे बैंक की बनावट, लॉकर रूम की स्थिति और आसपास के क्षेत्र का बारीकी से अध्ययन करते हैं। गिरीश इस काम में कंपास और जीपीएस की मदद भी लेता है।
इसके बाद वे कुछ और लोगों को अपने साथ जोड़ते हैं। एक व्यक्ति भूमिगत पाइपलाइन बिछाने में विशेषज्ञ है, जबकि दूसरा भूमिगत केबल कार्य का अनुभव रखता है।
बैंक से कुछ दूरी पर एक बंद पड़ा मकान है जो गिरीश के पूर्व व्यापारिक साझेदार भूपेंद्र पराशर का है। पारिवारिक विवाद के कारण यह मकान वर्षों से खाली पड़ा है। यही मकान सुरंग की शुरुआत के लिए चुना जाता है।
गिरोह चुपचाप मकान के अंदर काम शुरू करता है और शोर बाहर न जाए इसलिए खिड़कियों और दरवाजों को ढक देता है। उनका लक्ष्य अठारह दिनों में सुरंग पूरी करना और दिवाली के शोर-शराबे का फायदा उठाना है।
दिन-ब-दिन सुरंग आगे बढ़ती जाती है। आखिरकार अठारहवें दिन वे सुरंग के अंतिम छोर तक पहुंचते हैं और ऊपर की ओर खुदाई शुरू करते हैं। लेकिन क्या वे सचमुच बैंक के लॉकर रूम तक पहुंच पाए थे, या फिर उनकी योजना किसी अनपेक्षित मोड़ पर पहुंचने वाली थी?
