Rupesh Tomer, Pankaj Solanki, and Lalit Singh worked as domestic cooks, preparing meals in residential homes. Their profession allowed them easy access to several housing societies, where they were known faces among residents and security staff.
One day, the three men arrived at the residence of Arun Rathi. At the time, Arun’s wife, Deepa Rathi, was alone at home. Since Rupesh had previously worked for the Rathi family and was familiar to the society’s security guards, nobody stopped them from entering the premises.
What appeared to be a routine visit soon turned into a horrifying crime. The three men entered the house and brutally murdered Deepa Rathi. After committing the crime, they looted jewellery worth nearly three crore rupees along with six lakh rupees in cash before fleeing the scene.
When Arun Rathi learned about the incident, he was devastated. He immediately informed his daughters and called them back home. Initial investigations and statements from the security guards quickly pointed toward Rupesh and his associates as the prime suspects.
Arun struggled to understand why Rupesh would commit such a brutal act. He informed the police that Rupesh had worked at their home until about one and a half years earlier. According to Arun, Rupesh often had a short temper and frequently argued over money. Eventually, he was dismissed after making unreasonable financial demands.
As investigators dug deeper, they identified Rupesh’s two accomplices and gathered more information about their backgrounds. However, all three suspects had switched off their phones immediately after the crime and had not contacted their families in Rajasthan.
With few leads available and the accused seemingly vanishing without a trace, the police faced an increasingly difficult challenge. The search for the killers had only just begun.

एक दिन तीनों अरुण राठी के घर पहुंचे। उस समय घर में केवल दीपा राठी अकेली थीं। रुपेश पहले राठी परिवार के यहां काम कर चुका था, इसलिए सुरक्षा गार्ड ने उन्हें बिना किसी रोक-टोक के अंदर जाने दिया।
लेकिन यह कोई सामान्य मुलाकात नहीं थी। घर में प्रवेश करने के बाद तीनों ने मिलकर दीपा राठी की बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी। हत्या के बाद वे घर से लगभग तीन करोड़ रुपये के जेवर और छह लाख रुपये नकद लेकर फरार हो गए।
घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही अरुण राठी स्तब्ध रह गया। उसने तुरंत अपनी बेटियों को सूचना दी और घर वापस बुलाया। शुरुआती जांच और सुरक्षा गार्ड के बयान से पुलिस को जल्द ही रुपेश और उसके दोनों साथियों पर शक हो गया।
अरुण को समझ नहीं आ रहा था कि रुपेश ने इतनी निर्ममता से यह अपराध क्यों किया। उसने पुलिस को बताया कि रुपेश लगभग डेढ़ साल पहले उनके यहां काम करता था। उसका स्वभाव चिड़चिड़ा था और वह अक्सर पैसों को लेकर विवाद करता रहता था। इसी कारण उसे नौकरी से निकाल दिया गया था।
जांच के दौरान पुलिस ने रुपेश के दोनों साथियों की पहचान भी कर ली। लेकिन हत्या के बाद से तीनों के मोबाइल फोन बंद थे और उन्होंने राजस्थान स्थित अपने परिवारों से भी कोई संपर्क नहीं किया था।
पुलिस के पास सुराग बहुत कम थे और आरोपी मानो हवा में गायब हो चुके थे। अब शुरू हुई एक लंबी तलाश, जिसने पूरे मामले को और भी रहस्यमय बना दिया।
