गाँव वालों को एक जगह से किसी सड़ी हुई चीज़ की तेज़ दुर्गंध आ रही है। जब वे जाकर देखते हैं तो पता चलता है कि यह दुर्गंध एक बोरे के अंदर से आ रही है, जिसमें एक लाश है। पुलिस छानबीन करती है तो पता चलता है कि लाश एक औरत की है। पोस्टमॉर्टम रिपोर्ट से पता चलता है कि लाश चार महीने पुरानी है और मरने वाली की उम्र लगभग 23-24 साल रही होगी। उसका कद 5.7 फीट है और उसे मारने से पहले उसके साथ रेप किया गया था.

पुलिस लड़की के कद को अपना मुख्य सुराग बनाकर जांच शुरू करती है और पिछले चार महीनों की आसपास की सभी मिसिंग कम्प्लेंट्स में मिलता-जुलता केस ढूंढती है। पुलिस को जो भी केस मिलते हैं, उनसे यह लाश मेल नहीं खाती। अब पुलिस अपने खबरियों को सक्रिय करती है ताकि वे पता लगा सकें कि क्या इस कद की कोई लड़की कहीं से गायब है जिसकी मिसिंग कम्प्लेंट दर्ज नहीं करवाई गई.

अब पुलिस के हाथ तीन परिवार लगते हैं, जिनमें से एक का डीएनए भी मैच हो जाता है। मरने वाली का पति, जो पहले मना कर रहा था, अब यह कबूल करता है कि यह लाश उसकी पत्नी फरीदा की है, जो पिछले चार महीनों से गायब थी.
