Crime Patrol Satark – Urvashi Karat Case
15-year-old Urvashi Karat has stomach pain. A doctor informs her mother, Padma, that Urvashi is three months pregnant. The hospital reports the matter to the police. Urvashi tells the police that three months earlier, a man named Bunty Shinde molested her while she was alone at home. The police begin searching for Bunty Shinde in the village and find three people with that name. However, when their photographs are shown to Urvashi, she says none of them is the culprit.
A social worker, Anita Kamble, tells the police that Urvashi’s parents are lying and that no Bunty Shinde raped Urvashi. Urvashi then changes her statement and says that Sameer Sheikh, a farm worker who worked alongside her, took advantage of her and raped her. Meanwhile, the incident gains media attention, with reports alleging that hospital staff and police officers are demanding money to terminate Urvashi’s pregnancy.
15 साल की उर्वशी करात अपने बाबा के साथ खेत में काम करती है। इसी खेत में समीर नाम का एक लड़का भी काम करता है। समीर और उर्वशी की अच्छी बनती है। कुछ दिन से उर्वशी की तबीयत ठीक नहीं चल रही होती है। उसकी माँ उसे एक डॉक्टर के बाद दूसरी डॉक्टर के पास ले जाती हैं, जहाँ पता चलता है कि वह गर्भवती है। उर्वशी से पूछने पर वह बताती है कि उसके साथ दुष्कर्म हुआ है, जिसके कारण ऐसा हुआ। एक 15 साल की लड़की के साथ हुई यह घटना सभी को सकते में डाल देती है।
उर्वशी बताती है कि बंटी नाम के एक लड़के ने यह सब किया है। वह अचानक उसके घर के पास से गुजरते हुए पानी माँगता है और जब उर्वशी उसे पानी पिलाती है तो वह उसके साथ रेप करता है। पुलिस पूरे गाँव से बंटी नाम के तीन लोगों को ढूंढ निकालती है, मगर तीनों ही इस वारदात से इनकार करते हैं। एक कई महीनों से टांग टूटने के कारण बिस्तर पर है, दूसरा 15 दिन पहले ही पुणे से लौटा है। तीसरे बंटी को पुलिस हिरासत में लेती है, मगर वह भी साफ इनकार करता है और फोटो दिखाने पर उर्वशी भी उसे पहचानने से मना कर देती है।
पता नहीं कैसे यह पूरा मामला मीडिया तक पहुँच जाता है। न तो पुलिस और न ही अस्पताल के कर्मचारियों को पता होता है कि यह खबर लीक कैसे हुई।
