Salim Siddiqui Missing Case | सलीम सिद्दीकी गुमशुदगी मामला
Two-month-old Salim Siddiqui goes missing from a construction workers’ settlement in Mumbai. His parents, Wasim Siddiqui and Nafisa Siddiqui, are daily wage laborers who leave their children at home while working on a nearby construction site.
The family’s neighbour, Shazia, shares a close bond with Nafisa and often helps care for Salim. On the day of the incident, Shazia takes Salim with her, claiming that she will massage him and bring him back shortly. However, she never returns.
When Wasim and Nafisa begin searching for their son, they discover that Shazia and her partner Mushtaq have suddenly disappeared from the area. Their rented room has been vacated, and nobody knows where they have gone. The police suspect that the couple deliberately befriended the family to kidnap the infant.

Despite an extensive investigation, the police fail to trace either the missing child or the accused couple. With no photographs, no reliable addresses, and very few leads, the case gradually turns cold. Like thousands of other missing child cases, Salim’s file remains unresolved for years.
Eight years later, a special Crime Branch unit is assigned to review several old missing child cases. Under pressure from the court and child welfare authorities, Inspector Shekhar and his team reopen Salim’s case and begin examining the original investigation.
The team discovers that Shazia and Mushtaq had carefully gained the trust of Wasim and Nafisa before the kidnapping. Shazia had even helped Nafisa during her pregnancy and after Salim’s birth, making the betrayal even more shocking.
Using old call records, forgotten contacts, and fresh intelligence, the investigators slowly rebuild the case. Their search eventually leads them to a village in Uttar Pradesh, where they finally locate Mushtaq after years of disappearance.
During questioning, Mushtaq initially denies knowing anything about Salim or Shazia. However, the investigation reveals that Salim had been raised under a different identity and renamed Sohel. Mushtaq admits that the child lived with him and Shazia for several years after the kidnapping.
The case takes another dramatic turn when Mushtaq claims that Shazia later left with the boy and disappeared. Whether Salim is still alive, where he is now, and what ultimately happened to him remain unanswered questions as the investigation moves into its next phase.
