UPDATE: Crime Patrol will air Teacher Recruitment Scam case despite getting warning from Chautala family

Teacher Recruitment Scam Controversy

Crime Patrol Dastak | Om Prakash Chautala Case

Crime Patrol Dastak episode based on the Teacher Recruitment Scam landed in controversy after the family of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala objected to the telecast while the case was still under consideration in the High Court. The episode was scheduled to air on 23rd and 24th February on Sony TV.

According to sources:
“Crime Patrol Dastak team has received a notice from the Chautala family stating that since the case is under High Court consideration, the team should not air an episode based on the Teacher Recruitment Scam of 1999-2000. If the show is aired, they may move the High Court on the issue.”

As the Chautala camp reportedly did not receive any response from Sony TV or the Crime Patrol team, it appeared that the show would still be aired despite the notice.

During an interaction with a news channel, anchor Anup Soni stated that the Crime Patrol team was aware of the objection notice but the episode would still air as scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.

The dispute between the Chautala family and the Crime Patrol team reportedly began after Sony TV started airing teasers for the episode.

“We saw a teaser on Sony TV in which anchor Anup Soni announced that a show on the alleged scam would air on February 23. They should not have done this while the matter is still under court consideration,”

said a member of the Chautala legal team.

The upcoming episode was based on the alleged teacher recruitment scam that took place during the NDA rule in 1999-2000. The episode depicted how former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala, and their associates allegedly carried out irregularities in the recruitment of nearly 3200 teachers.

Earlier that January, the Indian broadcast ministry had also asked Sony TV not to telecast episodes based on the 16 Dec 2012 Delhi Case. A notice was reportedly sent to the Crime Patrol producers after teasers for the episode were aired on television. The episode was later delayed indefinitely.
