द्वन्द | Irreconcilable Differences
Year 2010.
The story begins on the wedding day of Vaishali Saini (played by Raquel Rabello), the niece of Uttar Pradesh strongman Mohan Saini. The wedding preparations are complete, and both families eagerly await the arrival of the baraat. Vaishali’s mother and aunt escort her toward the wedding stage when she suddenly says that she needs to use the washroom. They take her back to her room, where she locks the door from inside and consumes poison. Her family rushes her to the hospital, but the doctors declare her dead on arrival.
Four years pass after the tragic incident. Vaishali’s father and uncle continue to run a large brick manufacturing business, while Mohan Saini remains one of the most influential and feared men in the city. One evening, Mohan is discussing business matters with a partner in his office when two armed men suddenly enter. Without warning, they open fire on Mohan using country-made pistols. A third accomplice waits outside on a motorcycle. After carrying out the attack, the shooters flee the scene and escape with their partner. Mohan’s security guard attempts to fire at them, but his weapon jams at the crucial moment, allowing the attackers to get away.

उत्तर प्रदेश के एक शहर में रहने वाले बाहुबली मोहन सैनी की भतीजी वैशाली सैनी की शादी का दिन है। शादी की सभी तैयारियाँ पूरी हो चुकी हैं और बारात का इंतजार किया जा रहा है। वैशाली की माँ और बुआ उसे स्टेज की ओर लेकर जा रही होती हैं, तभी वह अचानक टॉयलेट जाने की बात कहती है। उसे वापस कमरे में ले जाया जाता है। कमरे में पहुँचते ही वह अंदर से दरवाज़ा बंद कर लेती है और ज़हर खा लेती है। परिवार वाले तुरंत उसे अस्पताल लेकर जाते हैं, लेकिन डॉक्टर उसे मृत घोषित कर देते हैं।
इस दर्दनाक घटना को चार वर्ष बीत चुके हैं। वैशाली के पिता और चाचा का ईंटों का बड़ा कारोबार है। वहीं मोहन सैनी आज भी शहर के सबसे प्रभावशाली और ताकतवर लोगों में गिना जाता है। एक शाम मोहन अपने कार्यालय में अपने एक व्यापारिक साझेदार के साथ बातचीत कर रहा होता है। तभी दो युवक अचानक कार्यालय में घुसते हैं और देसी कट्टों से उस पर गोलियाँ चला देते हैं। उनका तीसरा साथी बाहर मोटरसाइकिल पर उनका इंतजार कर रहा होता है। वारदात को अंजाम देने के बाद तीनों हमलावर मौके से फरार हो जाते हैं। मोहन सैनी का सुरक्षा गार्ड उनका पीछा करते हुए गोली चलाने की कोशिश करता है, लेकिन उसकी बंदूक उसी समय जाम हो जाती है और अपराधी भाग निकलते हैं।
