Shikwa | शिकवा
Dinesh Sahu and Anita Sahu are the children of Narmada. Narmada had been living near her daughter’s home because of long-standing disputes with her son Dinesh. About 20 years ago, she left her own house, where Dinesh lived with his second wife. She took along Prasad, Dinesh’s young son from his first marriage. Dinesh’s second wife clearly stated that Prasad was not her responsibility and refused to care for him.
When Narmada passed away, Dinesh did not come to attend her funeral. Everyone waited for him to at least fulfill his final responsibility toward his mother, but he never arrived.
Narmada and her family story
नर्मदा देवी के दो बच्चे हैं, दिनेश और अनीता। अनीता गांव की सरपंच है। नर्मदा अपना घर बीस साल पहले छोड़ चुकी है, जिसमें दिनेश अपनी दूसरी पत्नी के साथ रहता है। नर्मदा ने वह घर इसलिए छोड़ा था क्योंकि दिनेश और उसकी पत्नी, दिनेश की पहली पत्नी से हुए बेटे प्रसाद का बिल्कुल ख्याल नहीं रखते थे। नर्मदा बीस साल से अपनी बेटी के घर के पास रह रही है और इन बीस सालों में दिनेश एक भी बार उससे मिलने नहीं आया। अनीता अब अपने दो बच्चों के अलावा प्रसाद का भी ख्याल रखती है।
समय बीतता है और नर्मदा का देहांत हो जाता है। उनके निधन के बाद सभी को इंतजार है कि दिनेश आकर नर्मदा की चिता को अग्नि देगा, मगर वह नहीं आता है।
