Rachna is an average high-school student. Her parents keep shouting at her about her studies. These days, Mumbai’s climate is pleasant, and she likes to spend some time sitting by her room’s window. For the last few days, she has noticed that a girl of her age comes to the garden outside her window, spends 30–35 minutes there sitting alone, and then goes back. The girl does not talk to anyone and spends the whole time by herself in the garden.

Rachna becomes curious to know where the girl comes from and why she looks so lonely. One evening, she goes to meet her. The girl tells her that her name is Namita, and Rachna keeps meeting her for weeks. Finally, one evening Namita tells Rachna about her life. She belongs to Nashik and was sold to a woman named Farida by her own mother two years ago. Now she lives with Farida and is forced into flesh trade from her house. She was pushed into this work when she was a small child. At that time, Farida used to pay commission to her mother Laxmi, and two years earlier, after her mother sold her, her mother started taking commission from Farida.
