A newly married woman’s diary exposes the pain behind her tragic death

26-year-old Aarti Shekhar (real name Khushi, played by Sargun Mehta) died by suicide just a few months after her dream marriage to Wipro techie Sikandar Abhijeet. For Khushi, who belonged to Bihar, marrying Sikandar felt like a dream come true. However, with time, that dream slowly turned into a nightmare.

The personal diary recovered by the police was enough to reveal the pain and suffering she endured during those months. Sikandar also belonged to Bihar, and the marriage was arranged by their families. Being a highly paid software engineer, Sikandar’s family had high expectations from Khushi’s parents. According to the diary, it became extremely difficult for Khushi’s family to fulfill all their demands.
