Twenty-six-year-old Aarti Shekhar (real name Khushi, played by Sargun Mehta) died by suicide just a few months after her dream marriage to Wipro employee Sikandar Abhijeet. For Khushi, who belonged to Bihar, marrying Sikandar seemed like a dream come true. However, as time passed, that dream gradually turned into a nightmare.

The personal diary recovered by the police revealed the emotional pain and suffering she endured during her marriage. Sikandar, who also belonged to Bihar, had entered into an arranged marriage with Khushi through their families. As a highly paid software engineer, his family’s expectations from Khushi’s parents were considerable. According to the diary, it became increasingly difficult for her family to meet those demands.
