उत्तर प्रदेश के एक गरीब परिवार का सबसे बड़ा बेटा मुदस्सर अपने परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति सुधारने के लिए कम उम्र में दिल्ली आ जाता है। वर्षों की कड़ी मेहनत के बाद वह सब्जी बेचकर अपना गुज़ारा करने लगता है। अपनी कमाई का अधिकांश हिस्सा वह हर महीने घर भेजता है ताकि उसके माता-पिता और छोटे भाई-बहनों का जीवन बेहतर हो सके। धीरे-धीरे वह अपने छोटे से कारोबार को बढ़ाने का सपना भी देखने लगता है और ईमानदारी से मेहनत करता रहता है।
एक दिन सब्जी मंडी में खरीदारी करने आए सेना के एक अधिकारी का पर्स गायब हो जाता है। शिकायत दर्ज होते ही पुलिस मौके पर पहुंचती है और जांच शुरू करती है। तलाशी के दौरान मुदस्सर के पास से दो सौ रुपये मिलने पर उस पर चोरी का आरोप लगा दिया जाता है। लाख सफाई देने के बावजूद उसकी कोई बात नहीं सुनी जाती। वह बार-बार कहता है कि यह उसकी दिनभर की मेहनत की कमाई है, लेकिन परिस्थितियां उसके खिलाफ खड़ी दिखाई देती हैं।
पुलिस मामला दर्ज कर उसे जेल भेज देती है। अदालत में मुकदमा लंबा खिंचने लगता है और मामूली रकम वाले इस केस में भी उसे जमानत नहीं मिल पाती क्योंकि वह जमानत की राशि जमा करने में असमर्थ होता है। जेल की सलाखों के पीछे बिताया गया हर दिन उसके सपनों, परिवार और भविष्य पर भारी पड़ने लगता है। वहीं गांव में रहने वाला उसका परिवार उसकी कोई खबर न मिलने से गहरे दुख और चिंता में डूब जाता है।

His life revolves around hard work, responsibility, and the hope of giving his family a better future.
One day, an Army officer reports that his wallet has gone missing while shopping in the vegetable market. The police immediately begin investigating the complaint. During the search, they recover ₹200 from Mudassar and accuse him of stealing the money. Despite repeatedly insisting that the cash is his entire day’s earnings, no one believes him. The circumstances appear to be against him, and before he realizes it, he is arrested and charged with theft.
Mudassar is sent to jail while the legal process slowly unfolds. Since he cannot afford the bail amount, he remains behind bars even though the alleged theft involves only a small sum. As the days turn into months, his dreams begin to fade. Back in his village, his family waits anxiously for news, unaware of the hardship he is enduring.
