दिवाली से ठीक एक दिन पहले मनसुखानी परिवार में खुशियों का माहौल था। 20 साल की तृप्ति कॉलेज (played by Shafaq Naaz) जाने की तैयारी कर रही थी, जबकि उसका पांच साल का चचेरा भाई आशीष घर में सबका लाड़ला था। परिवार के कारोबार और भविष्य को लेकर भी सब कुछ ठीक चल रहा था। लेकिन इसी बीच तृप्ति और आशीष अचानक लापता हो जाते हैं। कुछ ही देर बाद परिवार को एक फोन आता है और एक करोड़ रुपये की फिरौती मांगी जाती है। साथ ही चेतावनी दी जाती है कि पुलिस को खबर की तो बच्चों की जान खतरे में पड़ जाएगी।
आशीष के पिता और तृप्ति के चाचा श्याम पुलिस को जानकारी देते हैं। पुलिस कॉल को ट्रैक करने और अगली बातचीत रिकॉर्ड करने की तैयारी करती है। जांच में पता चलता है कि अपहरणकर्ता परिवार और उसकी आर्थिक स्थिति से अच्छी तरह परिचित है। इतना ही नहीं, पुलिस को पिछले साल परिवार के घर से हुई ₹65,000 के गहनों की चोरी भी याद आती है, जिसका रहस्य अब तक नहीं सुलझा था। क्या दोनों घटनाओं के बीच कोई संबंध है?
जैसे-जैसे जांच आगे बढ़ती है, पुलिस को शक होने लगता है कि अपहरण की पूरी योजना किसी बाहरी अपराधी की नहीं, बल्कि परिवार के किसी करीबी की हो सकती है। इसी बीच पुलिस को एक और महत्वपूर्ण सुराग मिलता है और घटनाओं की कड़ियां एक-दूसरे से जुड़ने लगती हैं। लेकिन असली सवाल अब भी यही है कि तृप्ति और आशीष को किसने अगवा किया और इस पूरी साजिश के पीछे असली मकसद क्या है?
Just a day before Diwali, the Mansukhani family is preparing to celebrate together. Twenty-year-old Tripti is getting ready for college, while her five-year-old cousin Ashish is the beloved child of the family. Their business is doing well and the family appears to have little reason to worry. But suddenly, Tripti and Ashish disappear. Soon, the family receives a threatening call demanding a ransom of ₹1 crore, along with a warning that the children will be killed if the police are contacted.
Ashish’s father and Tripti’s uncle, Shyam, decides to involve the police despite the kidnapper’s warning. Investigators place the calls under surveillance and begin tracking the kidnapper. They soon realize that whoever is behind the kidnapping knows the family, its routine and its financial situation unusually well. The investigation also brings an unresolved incident from the previous year back into focus: jewellery worth ₹65,000 had been stolen from the Mansukhani home, but the case had never been solved.
As the police examine the circumstances surrounding the children’s disappearance, suspicion begins to move closer to the family itself. The ransom demand, the knowledge of the family’s movements and the earlier theft all appear to be connected somehow. With every new clue, the kidnapping becomes more complicated. The question remains: who could know the family well enough to execute such a plan, and what is the real motive behind the disappearance of Tripti and Ashish?
