Place: Sinnar

Ranjana (real name Sunita (25)) lives with her husband Mahesh (real name Gyaneshwar Pandurang Kakad (32)) and their two children in Sinnar. Mahesh works as an auto-rickshaw driver but spends most of his earnings on alcohol. Despite the family’s worsening financial condition, he pays little attention to his responsibilities.

Life at home becomes increasingly difficult for Ranjana. Frequent arguments, financial hardship, and constant abuse turn her daily life into a struggle. Mahesh’s aggressive behavior, combined with the hostility of his mother, creates an environment of fear and helplessness.

One evening, Ranjana confronts Mahesh because there is no food left in the house for dinner. Instead of finding a solution, Mahesh becomes furious. The argument quickly escalates, and both Mahesh and his mother begin verbally and physically abusing her. What started as a discussion about food turns into another painful episode of violence.
