Crime Patrol | Crime Patrol: Bikhre Rishte – Case of missing man Akshya Kaale (Episode 507, 508 on 15, 16 May 2015)

Dispersed Relations | बिखरे रिश्ते

Akshaya Kale (real name Vaibhav Achrekar, played by Saheem Khan) has been missing for the last three months. His disappearance leaves his mother, elder brother Pankaj Kale (played by Sudeep Sarangi), and the rest of the family deeply worried.

When Akshaya fails to return home one evening after work, Pankaj, their mother Gayatri, and Pankaj’s wife Savita file a missing person complaint. During the investigation, police discover that Akshaya had been regularly communicating with a second mobile number that was also registered in his name. Surprisingly, no one in the family, including employees at his mobile phone store, knows anything about this number.

Investigators further learn that both of Akshaya’s phone numbers were switched off at the same time and from the same location on the day he disappeared. This discovery strengthens suspicions that he may have been lured somewhere before vanishing.

The police then uncover another important lead. Call records connect Akshaya to Rashmi Sawant (real name Jyotsana More, played by Trishna Mukherjee), a 34-year-old housewife who lives near the Kale family.

At first, investigators suspect an extramarital affair. Rashmi’s husband, Jayesh Sawant, is an alcoholic who frequently quarrels with her. However, Rashmi denies any romantic involvement with Akshaya. She explains that they became friends about a year earlier and occasionally spoke over the phone.

Police discover another number in Rashmi’s call records belonging to her former college friend Sandeep Tambe. Sandeep tells investigators that he reconnected with Rashmi after meeting her at a wedding several years after college, and they resumed occasional contact.

Months pass without any major breakthrough. Although the police have several suspects, they still lack evidence to establish what happened to Akshaya. Behind the scenes, investigators learn that on the day of his disappearance, Akshaya had travelled away from both his shop and home to meet someone. According to emerging clues, a man claiming to be from the Crime Branch persuaded him to accompany him.

The case takes another dramatic turn when Pankaj’s daughter Vidya discovers a hidden mobile phone inside the family’s sofa. Investigators identify it as the same number that had been communicating with Akshaya before he vanished. It was also switched off at exactly the same time as Akshaya’s phone, making it a crucial piece of evidence in the mystery.
