गाँव का एक यूवक सुमित शिखा को चाहता है। वो जब उसको प्रपोज़ करता है तो शिखा उसको डाँट देती है लेकिन फिर एक दिन आखिरकार वो मान जाती है। दोनो ही अलग-अलग कास्ट से आते हैं इसलिए उन्हें पता है की उनकी परिवार वाले उनकी शादी को कभी स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे इसलिए वे उननो लोग घर से भाग कर शादी कर लेते हैं लेकिन बाद में पकड़े जाते हैं। गाँव की पंचायत के सामने ये फ़ैसला सुनाया जाता है की इनदोनो की शादी अमान्य है और शिखा को उसके घर वापस भेज दिया जाता है. शिखा और सुमित अलग हो जाते हैं मगर इसके बाद अचानक शिखा ग़ायब हो जाती है. पुलिस का पहला शक सुमित पर है मगर सुमित इस बारे में कुछ भी नहीं जानता है. आख़िरकार कुछ दिन बाद पुलिस को गाँव के बाहड एक खंडहर में शिखा की लाश मिलती है.
A village youth Sumit likes Shikha. When he proposes to her, Shikha scolds at him but then one day finally she agrees. Both come from different casts, so they know that their family will never accept their marriage, so they run away from home and get married but are caught later. It is decided in front of the village panchayat that the marriage of these two is invalid and Shikha is sent back to her house. Shikha and Sumit split up, but suddenly Shikha disappears after that. The police's first suspicion is on Sumit, but Sumit knows nothing about it. Finally, a few days later, the police find Shikha's corpse at an abandoned place in the outer village.
