The Murder Of An Immigrant (Ep. 838)

Mumbai police discover the dead body of an unidentified man lying outside a showroom in Vasai. At first, people assume that the man died due to excessive drinking, but the postmortem reveals shocking truth. The victim was strangled to death. Police find no identity proof except a lottery ticket and a vest carrying a Dhaka label, suggesting possible Bangladeshi connection.

The investigation becomes difficult because nobody comes forward to identify the victim. Police suspect that the deceased may have entered India illegally from Bangladesh. After several days of investigation, retired officer Shinde identifies the victim as Wazir Siddiqui, a Bangladeshi immigrant who was once caught illegally crossing the border into India.

Police contact Wazir’s family in Bangladesh and discover that he had returned to India to earn money for his mother’s cancer treatment. His wife Mumtaz claims that Wazir was alive and had recently spoken to her from Pune. However, investigators soon realize that Mumtaz is hiding important truths.

As police dig deeper, they uncover Mumtaz’s affair with a Mumbai-based man named Suresh Rane. Wazir had discovered their relationship and repeatedly warned them. To remove him permanently, Mumtaz and Suresh allegedly planned Wazir’s murder. Suresh, along with another accomplice, intoxicated Wazir heavily before strangling him near the showroom.

Eventually, police arrest Suresh and expose the entire conspiracy. However, Mumtaz manages to escape before authorities can capture her. Border forces are alerted, and police continue searching for her. The case highlights the painful struggles of illegal immigrants and the dangers of betrayal, greed, and deception.
