In the misty hills of Darjeeling, a dangerous trap was being set—one that preyed on desperation and false promises. Namrata, a divorcee struggling to raise her children in a tea garden, was offered a job in Delhi. An all-expenses-paid journey and a better future—it seemed like a blessing. But sometimes, what looks like hope hides a darker truth.
Aashi, a class XI student, had recently attended an awareness workshop on human trafficking. When she learned about Namrata’s offer, something didn’t feel right. Trusting her instincts, Aashi decided to act. She contacted the same number and pretended to be interested in the job.
As conversations progressed, the true intentions of the traffickers began to surface. The man on the other end slowly tried to lure Aashi into the flesh trade. That was the confirmation she needed.

Without wasting time, Aashi informed an NGO and the police. A trap was carefully planned. Soon, the accused arrived to collect their victims—but this time, the police were waiting.
Four individuals were arrested, exposing a trafficking network operating between Darjeeling and Delhi.
Aashi’s courage not only saved Namrata but also prevented many more lives from being destroyed. Sometimes, awareness and one brave decision can break the chain of crime.
