शर्मनाक | A Shameful Act
The story is based on a November 2013 scandal in which India’s well-known journalist Tarun Tejpal was accused in a case of sexual harassment. The incident came to light after several emails exchanged between the victim, Tejpal, and Tehelka’s then managing editor, Shoma Chaudhary, were leaked to the media. Police involvement in the matter began after the case received widespread media attention.
According to Tejpal’s junior journalist colleague, she was sexually harassed by him twice during Tehelka’s annual fest at a Hyatt Hotel in Goa. The first time, both of them were intoxicated, so she ignored the incident. However, when the harassment happened again, the matter escalated further.
