Police reports suggested that the gang had around 40 members and was active in eastern Uttar Pradesh, with plans to expand operations into western regions.
Investigators also revealed that multiple accomplices were identified during questioning, leading to ongoing raids to locate and arrest other members.

Authorities indicated that many victims were individuals traveling alone, making them easy targets. The gang allegedly focused on robbing valuables and cash before committing the crimes.

Escape Incident
In a later development, Saleem Kuraishi reportedly escaped from police custody while being transported by train. The incident occurred between Suryavan and Bhadohi railway stations when he allegedly removed his handcuffs and jumped from the moving train.
The escorting police personnel were later held accountable for negligence, and a search operation was launched across several districts including Allahabad, Bhadohi, and Varanasi.
Law enforcement agencies continued their efforts to track down all individuals involved and ensure accountability under the law.
