Amritsar police finds the dead body of a 30-32 year old man whose head has been brutally crushed by a large rock. Police also find a voter ID card inside his pocket, which has a mobile number written on its back. The voter ID shows the man’s name as Balwant (real name Gurnam Singh, played by Ujjwal Chopra). Police call the mobile number and find that it is indeed Balwant’s number.
Balwant is a history sheeter and has a few cases against him. After the investigation begins, the police become certain that this is not Balwant’s body and that he is planning to fake his own murder.
अमृतसर पुलिस को एक 30-32 वर्षीय व्यक्ति का शव मिलता है, जिसका सिर एक बड़े पत्थर से कुचल दिया गया था। पुलिस को उसकी जेब से एक वोटर आईडी कार्ड भी मिलता है, जिसके पीछे एक मोबाइल नंबर लिखा है। वोटर आईडी से पता चलता है कि उस व्यक्ति का नाम बलवंत है (असली नाम गुरनाम सिंह, जिसे उज्जवल चोपड़ा ने निभाया है)। पुलिस उस मोबाइल नंबर पर कॉल करती है और पता लगाती है कि यह वास्तव में बलवंत का नंबर है।
बलवंत एक पुराना अपराधी है और उसके खिलाफ कई मामले दर्ज हैं। जांच शुरू होने के बाद, पुलिस को यकीन हो जाता है कि यह शव बलवंत का नहीं है और वह अपनी ही हत्या को फर्जी बनाने की योजना बना रहा है।
