40-year-old Pawan Bharadwaj is a wealthy man and brother of Nikhil Bharadwaj, who works in the CRPF. The brothers own property worth around five crore rupees. Four years earlier, Pawan’s wife Rajni left their home because Pawan was an alcoholic and never took responsibility for his family. Rajni finally leaves after reaching a breaking point, realizing that neither Pawan nor her mother-in-law would ever support her.

Nikhil and their mother want Pawan to remarry, and Pawan also agrees to it. They arrange his second marriage with a girl named Ankita from Azamgarh, who is nearly 10 years younger than him. One morning, Pawan, his mother, and his young son Rohan leave for Azamgarh in Pawan’s car. Pawan remains in contact with Nikhil, and Nikhil speaks to him just before they leave home. However, nearly two hours later, both Pawan’s and his mother’s mobile phones become unreachable.

After getting no response from Pawan, Nikhil files a missing complaint. The police later inform him that UP Police found Pawan’s car in Varanasi. Nikhil confirms that the car belongs to Pawan, but none of their belongings are inside it.

पवन भरद्वाज (राजीव कुमार) और निखिल भरद्वाज सगे भाई हैं। निखिल CRPF का जवान है और अपनी पत्नी के साथ अलग रहता है, जबकि पवन कुछ नहीं करता और अपनी प्रॉपर्टी और बागों की कमाई के सहारे अपनी, अपने बेटे रोहन और अपनी माँ की ज़िंदगी चला रहा है। पवन को शराब पीने की आदत है, जो लगभग रोज़ चलती है। इसी वजह से उसकी पत्नी रजनी (गीतांजली मिश्रा) ने उसका घर छोड़ दिया था। पवन और निखिल की कुल संपत्ति करीब पाँच करोड़ की है, जो उनके पिता के नाम पर रजिस्टर्ड है।

निखिल और पवन की माँ चाहते हैं कि पवन दूसरी शादी कर ले और इसके लिए वे उसे मना भी लेते हैं। पवन को अपनी माँ के साथ आजमगढ़ अपनी होने वाली पत्नी अंकिता से मिलने जाना है। निखिल भी पवन पर दबाव डाल रहा है कि वह अंकिता से मिले और शादी कर ले, ताकि रोहन की देखभाल ठीक से हो सके। पवन, रोहन और उसकी माँ सुबह आजमगढ़ के लिए निकल जाते हैं और निकलने के दो घंटे बाद उनका मोबाइल नंबर मिलना बंद हो जाता है।

अगले दिन कार बनारस में पाई जाती है और पुलिस कार के रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर से खोज कर निखिल को जानकारी देती है। निखिल पहुँच कर कन्फर्म करता है कि कार उसी की है। निखिल यह देखकर हैरान है कि कार बनारस में क्यों मिली जबकि उन्हें तो आजमगढ़ जाना था। कार पूरी खाली है, तो तीनों लोग गए कहाँ?

पुलिस इन तीनों लोगों की मिसिंग कंप्लेंट दर्ज करती है और उसके बाद इटावा पुलिस को रोहन की लाश मिलती है। पवन और उसकी माँ अभी भी लापता हैं।

पुलिस के शक के दायरे में निखिल, रजनी और पवन की होने वाली पत्नी अंकिता हैं, मगर तभी पुलिस को एक और चौंकाने वाली खबर मिलती है।
